Chiefs Face Their Toughest Matchup Yet

The Chiefs are still undefeated and the Seahawks have struggled thus far; but injuries and opposite directions of momentum make tonight’s game an up field battle

The Chiefs head into Seattle for a highly anticipated duel with the defending Super Bowl champions on Sunday Night Football tonight.

The undefeated Chiefs are taking on a Seahawks team that is surprisingly 3-3 on the season; Though three of those losses were by three or fewer points; including a disappointing overtime loss to Denver back on October 15th. The week and a half prep time has the Seahawks ready for redemption, in particular Sam Darnold whose two interceptions were the decisive plays in the aforementioned loss to the Broncos.

For the Chiefs, they hope to keep their undefeated streak intact but are sure to face fierce opposition in not only the Seahawks but the 12th man in a sold out Lumen Field. The last time Kansas City visited Seattle in 2018, the Mahomes-led team fell 31-38, also under the primetime lights of SNF. This time however, while the passing game is not as high octane as it was back then, the Chiefs roll into town behind the best run game Mahomes has had in his NFL career.

The rushing attack is led by a familiar face to Seattle, a one Kenneth Walker III whom the Chiefs will need to lean on to have success against the number one ranked defense in yards per game. The loss of Tyquan Thornton two weeks ago and the sad reality that Rashee Rice will miss tonight’s game with a hamstring injury creates added pressure for the Chiefs who will need to rely on a run game that has been the defining feature of Andy Reid’s offense so far this season.

I expect this game to be a great reunion for Kenneth Walker III and the team that originally drafted him. I predict him and the Chiefs will play spoiler through a heavy dose of runs and opportune play action passes to allow them to come out victorious against the Seahawks this Sunday night.
