The Current's Players Are Focused
The KC Current look to win their fourth in a row against an opponent that has given them hell in the past
The KC Current take on the Washington Spirit in just under an hour.
The stars are healthy, the fans are ready, and the implications are humongous.
The KC Current sit at 5th in the table looking to jump back into the 4 spot with a win tonight. A draw would make a home playoff match tricky. A loss not only would that even more difficult, it would also end an almost 3 year home unbeaten streak.
On the other side the Washington Spirit sit at 3rd in the table and -- after a win against Gotham last week -- are still very much in the race for the Supporters Shield. This match might not mean as much to them as it does to the Current; but you can bank on them bringing their A-game as they also start to prepare for a playoff run.
In many ways this already is a playoff game. After every big opportunity CPKC will be rocking inside the stadium as well as 15 seconds later once the (up to) 6,000 fans outside the stadium see what happens on their simulcast.
Jokes aside, this is the biggest match the Current have had in a very, very long time. A win would fully renew confidence in this team that fans have been hesitant to restore; though they never lacked belief.
