The KC Current Look To Make A Playoff Run [Podcast]

In this week’s episode of Current Thoughts; we go through everything you need to know before the Current’s playoff match this Saturday

Temwa Chawinga & the KC Current will face off against former teammate Ally Sentnor & Angel City FC this Saturday!

You could make a pretty good argument that these are the 2 hottest teams in the NWSL right now with the Current winning their last 5 in a row and Angel City going 4-1-0 in the same span.

A large part of that for Angel City is Ally. Ally has really found a spot where she feels comfortable and is thriving in a way she wasn’t able to after being poorly utilized in Kansas City.

On the other side, the Current’s recent surge has been fueled mainly by the return of Vanessa DiBernardo, the emergence of Haley Hopkins as a scoring machine, and a VAST improvement in their set pieces.

The fact that we were able to do most of this without Croix Bethune -- who has arguably been our best player this season -- is nothing short of spectacular. Now that Croix’s back and fully conditioned; this team should be scary to anyone who has to face them in the next 3 rounds of the playoffs.

The Current don’t want to just win a home playoff match though; their eyes are on a much bigger prize.

On this weeks episode of Current Thoughts on The Royal Family podcast: we tell you everything you need to know about the upcoming quarterfinal, the Current’s key to winning, Vanessa DiBernardo possibly playing her last game at CPKC in teal, and more!
