George Brett currently has the Kansas City Royals franchise record with 317 home runs as a Royal. Salvador Perez is sitting at 314 home runs and poised to catch him in the coming weeks.

The argument could be made that no Royal has ever meant more to the Royals franchise than Salvador Perez. On the field, in the dugout, and off the field, Salvy has not only brought home 1 of 2 World Series championships but he’s also only one of four players to be named captain in Royals history.

Even this year as Salvador Perez continues to struggle at the plate, his experience, advice, and leadership is invaluable… even though the Royals are wasting it.
